The Christian Family Magazine Idavakapathrika serves in the area of Christian Publication for the last couple of years. Both its print edition and on-line edition are well accepted by thousands of readers around the Globe. At the outset, the editorial board wants to thank God Almighty for everything and also extend our extreme joy to its readers, workers and well wishers. When print Medea came to Malayalam in 19th Century, likewise in the rest of the world, the then Christian leaders were there as pioneers to support it and make use of it for the proclamation of the Word of God and that through the uplifting of the community. With proud and humbleness, we could see the reality that our Fathers like H.G. Joseph Pulikkottil I, Kunnamkulam, Kayamkulam Philiphose Ramaban and Joseph Pulikkottil II Kunnamkulam were leading this era. They have translated the Holy Bible and printed it, started Presses like Pulikkottil Joseph Kathanar's press at Kunnamkulam, St. Thomas press, Kottayam, the oldest in this kind, started publications like Idavakapathrika, Athmaposhini and a liturgical text in malayalam - Sabhatharika etc. The late H.G.Pulikkottil II had started even news papers like Kerala Pathaka and helped to Malayala Manorama to come in to existence. Now, there are hundreds of publications in Malayalam, thank God. But the quality of message in it became a big concerns of the Day. Here is the role of Good Christian Family Magazines. The Atmaposhini Publishers of Christian Study Center, Kunnamkulam, is trying to bring the standard and purpose of Christian literature in Malayalam. Remember that Malankara Metropolotans Pulikkottil I & II and many other leaders of the Church and Community at large came out from this area. So, we feel it is our duty to do something with this concern. On behalf of Christian Study Center, Atmaposhini has published many books and articles during the past short years. The mouth-piece of it is the Idavakapathrika, All these literature is now available through this website. we look further and forward to see more christian literature for the benefit of all humanity, especially the Malayalee community. The Idavakapathrika is concentrating mainly on three areas: researches in the area of history of Christianity in Kerala, the liturgical and canonical concerns of the Indian Orthodox Church and analyzing the contextual issues with the Word of God. We hope and pray that this publication may help you in your spiritual growth and understanding. We always seek your support, advise and cooperation in this venture.
